Clare Rose Striking Union to Meet With Mediator

Sep 1, 2016

Workers who have been on strike against Clare Rose, a Long Island beer and wine distributor, were set to meet with a mediator in hopes of resolving the labor dispute that had been ongoing for weeks.

The Teamsters union representing Clare Rose workers went on strike over disagreements about wages, benefits, and working conditions. The two sides agreed to bring in a mediator to help bridge the gap and reach a new contract agreement.

Clare Rose is one of Long Island’s largest beverage distributors, distributing beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the region. The strike had impacted distribution operations and raised concerns among area retailers and restaurants about supply disruptions.

Both sides expressed willingness to work with the mediator toward a resolution that would end the work stoppage and allow employees to return to their jobs.
